4. Quran
O Mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. (35:15)
And Moses said, "If you should disbelieve, you and whoever is on the earth entirely - indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy." (14:8)
And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah ." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy. (31:12)
To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. (31:26)
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy. (41:42)
To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. And indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. (22:64)
They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allah ? May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable." (11:73)
And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy. (42:28)
And they had been guided [in worldly life] to good speech, and they were guided to the path of the Praiseworthy. (22:24)
O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not aim toward the defective therefrom, spending [from that] while you would not take it [yourself] except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy. (2:267)
And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon. (30:18)
Then, to Allah belongs [all] praise - Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.
And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (45:36-37)
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy. (85:8)
And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us." (7:43)

(Riyad as-Salihin Book 13, Hadith 4)
5.43 Narrated Ibn `Abbas (رضي الله عنه): Whenever the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offered the night (Tahajjud) prayer, he used to say,
(Sahih al-Bukhari 7499)
5.44 Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, "When a slave's child dies, Allah the Most High asks His angels, 'Have you taken out the life of the child of My slave?" They reply in the affirmative. He then asks, 'Have you taken the fruit of his heart?' They reply in the affirmative. Thereupon He asks, 'What has My slave said?' They say:
