Hadith

1. Hasan bin Ali (رضي الله عنه) while describing the noble features of Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said that

...When he walked it seemed as if he was descending to a lower place. When he looked at something he turned his whole body towards it. He always looked down. His sight was focused more to the ground than towards the sky. His modest habit was to look at something with a light eye (i.e. he looked at a thing, with modesty and bashfulness, hence he did not stare at anything). While walking he asked the Sahabah (رضی اللہ عنهم) to walk in front (and he himself walked behind). He made salaam to whomsoever he met."

(Shama'il Muhammadiyah Book 1, Hadith 7)

2. Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) reported: Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said,

"Wealth is not diminished by giving (in charity). Allah augments the honour of one who forgives; and one who displays humbleness towards another seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah exalts him in ranks."

(Riyad as-Salihin Book 1, Hadith 556)

3. It was narrated that Nafi' bin 'Abdul-Harith met 'Umar bin Khattab (رضی اللہ عنهم) in 'Usfan, when 'Umar had appointed him as his governer in Makkah.:

'Umar asked: "Whom have you appointed as your deputy over the people of the valley?" He said: "I have appointed Ibn Abza (رضي الله عنه) over them." 'Umar said: "Who is Ibn Abza?" Nafi' said: "One of our freed slaves." 'Umar said: "Have you appointed a freed slave over them?" Nafi' said: "He has great knowledge of the Book of Allah, is well versed in the rules of inheritance (Fara'id) and is a (good) judge." 'Umar said: "Did not your Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) say:

'Allah raises some people (in status) because of this Book and brings others low because of it?'"

(Sunan Ibn Majah Vol. 1, Book 1, Hadith 218)

Duas

O Allah, do not kill us with Your wrath, and do not destroy us with Your punishment, and pardon us before that.
